Public Test for PPKS Committee at UNIJI

Greetings, Rhinos!

On Thursday, February 29th, 2024, our academic team convened for a Public Test aimed at selecting prospective committee members for the Prevention and Handling of Sexual Violence Task Force at the University of Jakarta International.

This test was prompted by the grave issue of sexual violence, which can unfortunately occur on campuses. As an institution dedicated to shaping the character and behaviour of students, universities must take concrete measures to prevent such cases.

Our endeavor in conducting this test is to pave the way for a campus environment that is safe and free from sexual violence. We were honoured to have the following distinguished speakers join us:

- External Panelist I: Gabriella Karthika Lesmana, M.Psi (Psychologist).

- External Panelist II: Maria Jesse Ugha, M.S. (Law).

- Internal Panelist: Wanda Novita, S.E., M.M (HR).

The University of Jakarta International is committed to implementing policies outlined by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology (Kemendikbudristek) of the Republic of Indonesia. In 2021, Kemendikbudristek issued Ministerial Regulation No. 30 of 2021, focusing on the Prevention and Handling of Sexual Violence in Higher Education Environments.

The selection committee that successfully passed this test will now embark on the task of forming the PPKS Task Force, following the procedures established by Kemendikbudristek. With the establishment of this task force at our university, we aspire to safeguard all members of our academic community—students, lecturers, and staff—from the scourge of sexual violence.

Psychology for Future Generations

Hello Rhinos! If you're curious about how people learn and grow through different life stages, consider exploring Educational and Developmental Psychology. This field has become increasingly important, especially in recent years.

Let's meet Generation Alpha, born between 2010 and 2025, children of Generation Y and often younger siblings of Generation Z. With about 2.8 million born weekly, Indonesia ranks third globally in Generation Alpha births. Known as Generation Glass for their tech-savvy nature, they mature early, influenced by their millennial and Gen Z parents.

The COVID-19 pandemic shaped their views on mental health, making them more open. Increased online interactions and limited face-to-face contact during the pandemic may impact their mental health. As Gen Alpha returns to in-person activities, some may experience social anxiety, emphasizing the importance of educational and developmental psychology.

This field, guiding human growth from infancy to old age, is crucial for Generation Alpha's learning and daily life. Educational and Developmental Psychologists play a vital role, advising parents on supporting their children in studies and daily activities.

Financially, psychologists can earn up to Rp 249,000,000 annually, with an average monthly salary of Rp 20,700,000. Ranging from Rp 10,000,000 to Rp 31,700,000, a career in Psychology is personally and financially rewarding.

In summary, Educational and Developmental Psychology is a fulfilling profession shaping the future generation. If you're interested, consider the program at the University of Jakarta International. Explore it here or contact our team to learn more.
